Timex Corporation changed its name to Time Group USA, Inc. Founded in 1854, the company is a Timex Group B.V. subsidiary with its headquarters in Middlebury, Connecticut, in the U.S. Upon its establishment, the company was called the Waterbury Clock Company.

The brand is focused on making watches for every man. The brand was historically popular for a timepiece almost every American depended on despite their social class. George Bush Junior also owned one to distract voters from his true background in the upper social class.

Today, the company has a retro cool image on the market. It collaborated with Mr. Porter in 2017 to design three Vietnam-Era military style inspired watch editions. On the other hand, all kinds of men from Tokyo, Japan to London, England, adorn the brand’s Weekender and Easy Reader watch models.

The company’s nostalgia-tipped language of design is reflected in its range of watches from the elegance of the Milanese Fairfield bracelet watch to the chronographs with a sophisticated yet impressive look. This explains why many people across the globe continue to adorn watches from this manufacturer.

The Timex Ironman Classic 100 Watch is built with an abnormally large display. The five buttons the watch comes with give access to an alarm you can easily customize, a 100-lap memory of a stopwatch, and timers based on countdown or interval counts.

Built for water resistance use, the watch has an ATM rating of 100m or 10. It also has an Indiglo backlight for illumination where there’s not much light.

However, the Timex Ironman Classic 50 is a lightweight sports watch. It has a water resistance rating of up to 100m or 10 ATM. The watch is built with a customizable alarm, an Indiglo backlight, a 50-lap memory stopwatch and a countdown timer.

On the other hand, the Timex Ironman Classic 100, just like the classic 30 display. It also features five buttons for alarm customization, 100-lap memory stopwatch and countdown or interval timers. It’s also resistant to water at a rating of 100m or 10 ATM.

Choose from black/dark blue, black/ lime, black/gray/lime, black/gray/negative, black/gray/orange, black/green/negative, black/red, black/silver, black/yellow fast wrap, black/ blue/ lime, blue/lime/negative, gray/black/negative, gray/green color options.

What We Like: We like that the watch is lightweight for easy use on the go. Its water resistance properties make it ideal for use in most humid conditions. The watch also gives direct access to other watch complications such as alarms, timers and the backlight.

It also comes in multiple colors to suit the different tastes out there. The watch is also lightweight for convenient use on the go. When engaging in an outdoor activity, you need a watch that won’t weigh you down with its weight.

What We Don’t Like: We don’t like the quality of this watch as is with other similar brands on the market. The watch brand has better choices for the best watches it has to offer. Although it’s built with some level of water resistance, the watch doesn’t last a lifetime.

Buying Advice

Whether you’re buying a watch for yourself or a loved one, there’re various factors to put into consideration. Firstly, choose the right material for your watch. Ranging from plastics and metals to nylon and ceramics, watches are made from varied materials.

Choose a durable material that guarantees lifetime use of your watch. Next, determine the right watch mechanics and type of timepiece you want. Choose from dress watches, military timepieces, field watches, sports watches, chronograph watches, etc.

Also determine if you want a manual or auto-operated watch movement. Mechanical watch movements can be either of the two. Standard watches mostly come as quartz watches while luxury watches are based on mechanical movements. They cost thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Due to the investment value of watches, you can buy one with your money instead of keeping savings in the bank. What’s more, your watch is bound to increase in value over time, making luxury watches a goof form of investment.

Choose the right material for the strap of your watch and make sure it fits your wrist. Furthermore, look out for years of warranty for protection from manufacturing faults. Find a watch whose warranty lasts up to 10,000 years or more. Consider buying multiple straps you can easily change to give your timepiece a distinct look each time you wear it.

Make sure your ideal watch is in the price range of your budget and that you can afford it. Basically, watches cost as low as $30 to as high as over $150,000. Also pick a watch manufactured by a reliable brand such as Rolex, Casio, Timex, etc.

Whichever is your go-to brand, make sure it’s popular among the masses. If possible, check out user reviews of the watch you want to buy to get a general overview of consumer comments and feedback on the specific timepiece.
