You can put your baby on a feeding schedule, but when you’re out and about, sometimes you’re going to have to feed them while on the go. Just because you’re traveling and cannot warm a bottle the usual way, that doesn’t mean you have to give baby cold milk. The Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer is the perfect option for mom’s on the go.

In today’s review, we are going to take a closer look at the Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer. We are going to go over the features of this travel bottle and food warmer, but we are also going to give you a brief summary of the reviews for the product.

At the end, we’ll give you our recommendation on whether or not this product is worthy of your time and consideration.

About The Product

The Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer is capable of heating up breast milk, formula, and even baby food because the unit stores boiling water in a thermal flask.

When you’re ready to use it, you can pour the warm water into the frosted container, set the bottle of milk or baby food inside and let the water warm the bottle and its contents.

Notable features of the Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer include:

  • Securely stores hot water for warming bottles on the go
  • Specially designed to hold closer to nature bottles
  • No electricity required
  • Thermal flask keeps water warm and doesn't require external warming source
  • Portable and convenient, ideal for travel
  • Always BPA free for ultimate reassurance

The thermal flask is made out of stainless steel and the plastic components are made from BPA and phthalate-free, giving you peace of mind in knowing the product is safe to use. This unit’s small, lightweight size makes it perfect for traveling. When you are warming the bottle of milk or baby food (yes, it can warm baby food too!),  the food will be ready to go within five minutes or so.

We do want to point out that if you are traveling by plane, you will want to check with the airlines. Most international and local airlines will not allow liquid over 3 ounces. However, you can bring the empty container on the plane and ask the flight attendant for boiling water.

What People Had To Say

When looking at what people had to say about the Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer, we were impressed to see that the majority of consumers raved about this little bottle warmer. Customers were ecstatic at how long the steel flask can keep the water hot.

One parent said they poured boiling water in it in the morning and it was still hot 12 hours later. Not only that, but they were able to heat up a bottle in a few minutes with said water.

Parents liked that they could go into any convenience store or restaurant for fresh boiling water for this bottle warmer.

They remarked that it was much easier to use this product than warming the bottle using other methods (between the thighs, armpit, or in the bra as one mother said she has done in the past).

Customers like that the frosted plastic container is wide enough to fit the Tommee Tippee bottles, which are usually short and wide. Parents also like that this unit isn’t much larger than a 16 ounce bottle of water.

Although many customers raved about this product, there were some parents who were not very happy with it. They said they were intrigued by the idea of this product, but they felt the execution of it was a bit off. They reported that right out of the box, the thermos leaked all over their bag.

These parents reported that even when they made sure the seal was clean and the open/close button was in the “closed” position, it still leaked. Other parents reported they love the product, but they can only use it at home or in the car where it can be placed upright in a cup holder so it won’t leak.

Other customers wished the product was made from stronger materials. One person mentioned their bottle warmer dropped on the floor and the plastic lid/cover had cracks in it, thus rendering it useless.

A small handful of customers reported that if the thermos isn’t allowed to dry out completely before storing, the inside will begin to grow mold. Even when you carefully clean all the components, it will still smell badly.

Our Recommendation

When baby is hungry, baby is hungry – there’s no way around it. This isn’t a problem when you’re at home, but when you’re on the go, it can be a little more complicated. We believe the Tommee Tippee Travel Bottle and Food Warmer may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Before you go out on the road, you will want to fill this bottle with boiling water. The stainless steel thermos is going to keep that water nice and hot for when you need to warm your little one’s bottle. We love that the thermos comes with a large enough container that you can fill with the hot water and put your bottle in.

Since you are putting your bottle inside the container of hot water, the bottle of milk or baby food will warm up within a matter of minutes. Even if you are going on a plane, you can ask a shop in the food court for some boiling water (usually they will not charge just for hot water) and you’ll be good to go.

If you’re looking for a way to warm your baby’s milk without bulky appliances and is travel friendly, we feel this is definitely worth a second glance!
